Why do you pray?

Sorry guys, no actual blog post but if you could ever so kindly in your own words, answer the question, as long or as short as you'd like to - Why do you pray?

I pray because I am fearful and anxious, and it feels like God is the only one I can talk to about anything. I sometimes pray when I am feeling grateful and thankful, but not as often as when worried. And then sometimes while praying I almost have a panic attack because a thought comes into my head like "what if there is no God". Then i regroup...

I pray because it feels right to keep a connection with God. My prayers are more like a conversation with God. I just feel immensely lighter when I finish praying. It gives me a good feeling. I enjoy feeling that way. I pray when I'm happy, sad, scared, hopeful. Doesn't matter the emotion I'm feeling at the moment. I'll be honest, I wish I prayed on a daily basis. But the times I do, it feels good.

I pray because it makes me feel a lot closer to God. I don't pray as often as I need to or as I should but when I do it's usually a casual conversation. Or then there are the times when i get so emotional from it. At times I feel like there is no one I can talk to, praying makes me feel so much better. I used to write down all my prayers in my journal and they were just my convos with God.

I pray because I believe in a higher power that is responsible for my life. The good and the bad. It's more like an open line of communication that lets me tell them when I'm not so happy and when I am very happy. I pray because it makes me feel safer knowing that my life isn't just in my hands.

I pray because its how I communicate with God and it would really be weird if I don't talk with Him...especially when we haven't quarreled..

I pray because God is not man. He won't lynch me for some of the things that I think of or do. He won't judge me for wanting somethings, and because I trust him for wanting the best for me.

I pray as a matter of habit. There are days i wake up and dont feel like it but cos its in me, i barely pass the day without muttering a word of prayer

Prayer gives me some sort of security. I feel more secure when i pray. It helps bring things into perspective in my life knowing there's a greater power (God) whose Will i am subject to.

Sometimes, I pray because my 2 year old expects me to asks me to. Sometimes to get things of my chest, there are times when it doesn't sound so much like a prayer as an angry rant. Sometimes I pray to center myself, to connect with my spirit-being that is one with the Holy Spirit.
