We have a dotcom!

Those were the words uttered by my friend when I told her I had a pseudo site up and running now. Yes dear friends, just wanted to share with you that www.taynement.com is up and running now and I would appreciate it if you took a stroll and looked around. I've had this domain for a long time now but I have actually been scared to have it up and running. A dear friend of mine helped me with setting it up and getting my logo. I am grateful for her patience because I said "no" many times. It's still up and running and not a lot of content yet but I hope to sort the kinks out and get better with it. I am fully open to suggestions, comments and questions. I know I have quite a bit of work to do. I still don't have my breaking news segment running (which will be via a twitter feed) but I just wanted to take that leap before I chicken out. So once again, dear readers who have have been with me for God knows how long, hope you like it, share with your friends and than

Diary of a New Iyawo

Monday: We are back from honeymoon and settled in our new home. It's fun to cook for Chuka. Today I made moin moin and the recipe said, 'Beat 12 eggs separately '. Well, I didn't have enough bowls to do that, so I had to borrow 12 bowls to beat the eggs in. The moin moin turned out fine though. Tuesday: We wanted a fruit salad for supper. The recipe said, 'Serve without dressing'. So I didn't dress. But Chuka happened to bring a friend home  for supper that night. They both looked so startled when I served them. I think it was the salad. Wednesday: I decided to serve rice and found a recipe, which said, 'Wash thoroughly before steaming the rice'. So I heated some water and took a bath before steaming the rice. Sounded kind of silly in the middle of the day. I can't say it improved the rice anyhow.  Thursday: Today Chuka asked  for salad again. I tried a new recipe. It said, prepare ingredients, and then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before

25 Movies To See Before Oscar Night

So you guys know it's my season..award season that is. I love award season. It's just the perfect bow to the whole year of everything popculture. It's exhilarating to see deserving people win, frustrating to see the snubs and fun to see your early predictions come true. Anyways, the Oscars are my least favorite award shows even though they are the most prestigious. I am just so over the old ass Academy now with their stuffiness/politics/sticking to old rules. They really need to branch out and see beyond the "usuals". All that being said, every year EW publishes the list of 25 movies to see before Oscar night and every year I try to watch most of it. I have never watched all 25 in all the many years I have been doing this, just because there are just some movies I will never watch, some movies are hard to find and by the time I have access I am like meh. So here we go: 1.  Frankenweenie 2.  Compliance 3.  The Perks of being a wallflower 4.  Middle of Nowhere
